Impact Thrift Stores, Inc. was organized in the spring of 2001 by a small group of business professionals who felt a calling to use their business experience, talents and financial resources in a significant way. A board of directors was formed, a business plan was developed and a bank line of credit secured through personal guarantees of individuals excited by Impact's vision. In December of 2001, our first store was opened in Hatboro. Impact Thrift Stores Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose primary mission is to financially support local charities on a monthly basis through the net proceeds generated by our thrift stores’ operations. Impact is a stand-alone charity and is not connected with any larger organization such as a hospital or church. We are not your average non-profit organization. We are in business to make significant profits and then donate those profits to charitable organizations that are working hard to make a difference in our local communities. We currently support fourteen local charities. By the end of 2010, our charitable contributions will have totaled $1 million since 2003. One hundred percent of the merchandise sold in our stores is donated by individuals and businesses. Our inventory includes furniture, clothing, household items, bric-a-brac, toys, electronics, books, cars, and more. Impact Thrift currently has three store locations -Hatboro, Montgomeryville, and Norristown - that are staffed by more than 90 dedicated employees and volunteers. |
