What We Do

We operate thrift stores to raise funds to financailly support local charities.

All Impact Thrift Stores are attractive, clean, well-lit, highly organized and professionally staffed and managed. 100% of the stores merchandise is donated to Impact Thrift from individuals & businesses.  All items are carefully inspected so that only quality merchandise is displayed for sale. Everything in our stores is priced to sell. The net proceeds from those sales are donated to 13 local charities on a monthly basis.

 How We Impact! the Community

Our financial support of these local charities helps these organizations spend more time on their mission and less time fund-raising.  Impact Thrift Stores also works cooperatively with other charities such as Jewish Family and Children's Service (www.jfcsphil.org), helping them meet the material needs of their clients.

We provide an economic benefit to the local community by selling quality merchandise at low prices.

We "recycle".  Your unneeded, unwanted items that you donate to Impact Thrift Stores are sold & placed back into service.

Our stores provide employment opportunities.  Impact Thrift employs over 75 people from the local communities. Stop by any one of our three store locations to submit an application.

Volunteer opportunities are also available.

We welcome community service teens and adults who have community service hours to complete.

We work with special-needs individuals from local high schools and Intermediate Units.

We offer High School Senior Projects and College Internships. Students can fulfill their academic requirements and strengthen their college application and job resumes.

Charity Eligibility

Impact Thrift Stores, Inc. was founded December 2001 for the purpose of easing the burden of fundraising for non-profits such as yours. To be considered for eligibility is quite simple, you must be a registered 501 (C)(3) organization.  Your organization must deal in charitable efforts that aid families and/or children in need, be it homelessness, hunger, adoption, foster care, crisis intervention, etc. We ask that your request for funding be in writing, on your organization’s letterhead. Please explain the mission of your organization as well as any other pertinent information about who you are and those you serve. You may include any of your organization’s literature as well.

I will personally review your information and confirm that I, in fact, received your request. Our Board of Directors regularly assess our supported organizations to see if there should be  any changes to our current level of giving, or if we are able to add any new organizations to our list.  If the Board approves an increase in the number of non-profits we support, I then present to them a list of the organizations that I would recommend.  The Board, as a whole, then votes on which organization(s) we should add. I will alert any organization that has been chosen as to the results.

Together we can make a difference…make an impact!
